Antioxidant Analysis of Different Parts of Several Cultivars of Papaya (<i>Carica Papaya</i> L.)

Research and development of natural antioxidants are gaining popularity with their wide application in food medicine. Papaya (Carica papaya L.), a plant medicinal value, is widely planted tropical regions. This study was conducted to compare the tissues different organs as well leaves flowers 9 cultivars papaya. The three methods, namely, 2,2’-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assay, 2,2’-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) assay ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) were used determine total activities. Also, phenolic content flavonoid investigated evaluate capacity. Our research shows that roots manifested higher properties among all tested organs, Daqing cultivar exhibited strongest ability. Overall, our results indicate has potential become resource.
